Keeping images and data files

Iconizer has been allocated its own file type (&1D4) by RISC OS Open Ltd. (On 3rd June 2009) Such a file is called an iScript - an abbreviation for 'Iconizer script'. An iScript contains both an image and the parameter settings that gave rise to that image. An iScript is saved in the standard RISC OS manner. These iScript files can be loaded back into Iconizer either by drag and drop or via a double click on an iScript file icon in a directory display. Note that a file loaded into Iconiser wipes any existing parameter settings and/or image on the canvas.

For convenience, both an image and its parameter settings may be saved as a single RISC OS sprite file. It is then easy to convert the image into other file formats if required. The sprite files saved may be imported back into Iconizer using drag and drop. Both the image and parameter settings will be retrieved. Iconizer tests imported sprite files to try to ensure that only files with the correct information are accepted.

Iconizer is supplied with a few sample images. These are found in the directory labelled Samples.
