Saw Wave (2005)
When I first started creating ArtGraphs the software that I'd written was slow.
I was exhibiting at a computer show in Birmingham, December 2004,
when Anthony Hains offered to write the critical routines in fast machine code.
Within a couple of weeks I had my program running ten times faster.
Saw Wave was my first creation using the enhanced software.
I still like the simplicity of the construction but impact of the image.
I was experimenting with applying a concentric ring effect to a sine wave and
obtained the 'watery sheen' by accident.
It's really an optical illusion due to the particular colours being used.
The full digital rights to Saw Wave have been sold.
